Jackson Engraving builds custom engraved labels in 2-ply lamacoid, brass, stainless, and nylon for electrical contractors, plant maintenance teams, solar farms, datacenters, and general contractors nationwide. Whether you need ten valve tags or a complete panel schedule for a new build, every order is custom-quoted, proofed for accuracy, and shipped from our shop in Metropolis, Illinois.
The industry standard for permanent industrial labeling. Lightweight, non-conductive, indoor or outdoor.
Lamacoid is a rigid two-ply engraving plastic — a colored top layer bonded to a contrasting core, both UV-stable and chemical-resistant. When we engrave the surface, we cut through the top layer to expose the core color underneath, which gives you crisp, permanent text and graphics that won't fade, peel, or rub off.
It's the standard material for valve tags, panel legends, nameplates, and electrical labels because it's lightweight, non-conductive, and rated for both indoor and outdoor use.
Electrical contractors are our home turf. We engrave the labels that turn a finished panel into a panel that passes inspection.
Custom panel schedule labels engraved to fit any panel manufacturer, with breaker numbers, circuit descriptions, and load notes. We can match an existing panel's look, work from a printed schedule, or build the layout from your one-line drawing. Sized to fit the panel cover or printed onto a plate that mounts inside.
Individual circuit identification, push-button labels, switch ID plates, and disconnect lockout labels. Sized to your existing hardware. Standard NEC color schemes (red on white for emergency, white on black for general) or custom to your facility code.
Engraved or routed mimic panels for control rooms — single-color or multi-layer. Used for water treatment, food processing, and process plants where the panel itself shows the system at a glance.

OSHA-compliant brass valve tags — built for facilities that need to identify in a hurry.
If your facility has a valve someone needs to identify in a hurry, we make the tag for it. Engraved on solid brass — with the sizes, lettering, and attachment hardware your code requires.

Permanent identification for pumps, motors, control panels, conveyors, tanks — and anything else that needs an asset number on it.
We engrave from your drawings, your CMMS export, or a sketch on the back of an envelope.

Engraved receptacle and switch covers for facilities that need every outlet and toggle properly identified.
We engrave stainless steel and nylon device covers — receptacle plates, switch covers, and other electrical device covers — with the circuit, panel, voltage, or function info your facility code requires. Standard one-, two-, and three-gang sizes; specialty cutouts on request.

Most of what we make is 2-ply lamacoid. For brass valve tags, stainless and nylon device covers, we keep stock on hand.
We engrave on commercial-grade 2-ply lamacoid stock — the same material spec used on industrial control panels and chemical-plant valve banks. Every outdoor label leaves our shop with a two-year material guarantee against fade, peel, or delamination under normal outdoor exposure. If the material fails inside that window, we replace it at no charge. Labor is covered too, when the mistake was ours. Indoor labels routinely outlast the equipment they're mounted on.
